In the world of laser hair removal there seems to be a bit of confusion about the definitions of  bikini styles. What is a basic bikini line treatment? What is a Brazilian bikini treatment? What is totally bare bikini called? Well the these are easy questions to answer. Many people have very different answers but we will talk about a few of the common terms.

Basic Bikini line.   A basic bikini line laser hair removal is the hair that can be seen outside of your panty line in a regular bikini panty.

Brazilian Bikini line.  We define a Brazilian bikini line as removal of all of the hair in the pubic area except a strip which can vary in size and shape. Most of the strips are usually a rectangle or a triangle shape. The hair removed is usually about ½ an inch or more inside the panty line.  Also known as Hollywood bikini, French Bikini and the Playboy Bikini

Be Bare Everywhere Bikini is exactly what it sounds like, every single hair in the bikini/pubic area gone. Many confuse the Brazilian with the Full Bikini. The Be Bare Everywhere has many names... The Full Monty,The Full Bikini or The Full Brazilian to name just a few.

  **When shopping for bikini laser hair removal treatments be sure and ask how the clinic charges for their treatments.  Clinics price their treatments in different ways. Take the brazilian for example, some clinics charge for the whole public area minus the strip and it is one price. Others charge separately for each of the following areas; the frontal groin area, the labial area, the peri-anal area and the tush. You get the idea. It is a good idea to specifically ask what you are being charged for. I have had many patients come to our practice from another practice upset that they were charged for the frontal groin area and separately charged for the labial area and separately charged for the peri-anal area etc. These patients thought that their price quotes included the whole bikini, just leaving a strip behind. They become upset when they find out that they are going to either go home half done or fork out more money than originally budgeted because they are too embarrassed to back out when they find out it is going to cost more. They will share this info with me this because they feel cheated or taken advantage of. This is a common miscommunication between a laser hair removal provider and a patient. It is always good to have a clear explanation of what a  treatment price includes.
